I already got this Sat. off (put in for a personal day at work to make this ride).
Leon - my 3rd one as well - with the club. I've done it the past 5-6 years before w/the K of C.
Same participation patch - different ceremony. There's so many volunteer groups that show up,
I found it quite refreshing that our motorcycle community remembers our Veterans in this special way.
PS - For those club members that never did this event before, click on the video on Bronco's post.
It will give you an idea of the morning's events. "Good Stuff" as Bronco would say...
Big Bear - are we gonna have to push start your bike again this year?
As a added bonus - we could stop over at the airport off Rt. 110 afterwards and maybe view the parked US Navy's Blue Angel jets. We did this after the IDK's Helping Hand run last year, followed by a nice group breakfast at the diner, then RC Windy's Biker First Aid Class. The Blue Angels don't go on till around 2pm (at the end of the annual Bethpage Credit Union Jones Beach Air Show. Show is this Sat & Sun (Memorial Day wknd), from 10:00am till 3pm. This year's it's the US Navy's Blue Angels, and it flip flops w/the US Air Force's Thunderbirds every year. My cousin Suzanne Streidl is on the maintainence crew of the Blue Angels, and is working the show both days at the VIP tent this year. I'm was hoping for some VIP passes for Sunday's show. There are very few available so I won't have enough for our group. Sorry guys.
I can get plenty of their Blue Angels material, w/photos & tech info if anyone's interested.
